PROGRAMME FOR 2019-2020

The University of Edinburgh Women's Club aims to promote friendship and contacts among women who are associated with the University of Edinburgh or another UK university.

MEMBERSHIP

The qualification for membership is widely drawn and new members are warmly welcomed. Current members are encouraged to put forward friends or acquaintances for membership. Please let the Membership Secretary, Lesley Cumming, know of anyone eligible who wishes to join the club, as well as as of any changes of address or resignations. Members may join at any time.

SUBSCRIPTIONS

Subscriptions (£10.00) for the year September 2019 to August 2020 should be paid before 30th September 2019 to the Treasurer, Lesley Cumming.

INTERNATIONAL GROUP

The International Group runs a special programme organised for women from abroad who are postgraduate students themselves, or whose partners are postgraduates with an attachment to the University.

The International Group organises English language lessons on Tuesday mornings and provides child care during this time.

CLUB MEETINGS

The Club Meetings page describes meetings, visits and social events that will take place throughout this academic year. These events and meetings are open to all members.

Special interest groups that members may join include a Badminton Club, a Book Club and a Garden Group each with their own pages on the website.

CLUB FLAT

The Women's Club flat is on the First Floor of 18 Buccleuch Place. It is shared with the Graduates Association. It may be booked by members for Women's Club Group meetings and small private University functions. Bookings should be made through the Graduates' Association.

During the morning the flat is generally open, but for use at other times a key must be obtained from the Club Vice-President or Secretary.
